When my husband turned 50, I promised him that I would get a mammogram if he got a colonoscopy. Well 4 years later I've had the mammograms... all negative for cancer, but he still hasn't had his colonoscopy. Knowing now that men too should have mammograms, I have more reason to make sure he follows through. Not only with his colonoscopy, but with a mammogram as well! If I win the prize, I will share it with my husband AFTER he has his mammogram.

Thanks Susan! What a story. So glad to hear your positive story. Another example of how mammography works for early detection. Congratulations.

I encourage everyone to get a mammogram. My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer and her oncologist insisted all eight of her daughters should get a mammogram right away. I scheduled my appointment and my first mammogram, I had breast cancer ductal carcinoma insitu , since then one more sister has had breast cancer. I however never felt any lumps or had any inkeling that I may have cancer, and I did. Fast forward 10 years and I am doing just fine, with a little damage to my thyroid but still no reoccurance and my mother and sister are doing great also. Stay positive no matter what and you will beat anything.
